Arias by Riccardo Broschi (brother of Farinelli), Bertoni, Giacomelli as well as Handel

“Suitcase arias” or “Arie di Baule” were given this name because famous singers throughout the 17th and 18th centuries brought them with them on their travels, and these arias were regularly “inserted” into operas by other composers as party pieces  or into pasticcios with the work of several composers. This allowed singers to show off their talents with their favourite pieces, which were familiar to their ‘fan club’.

Experience a glorious evening of virtuosic song by outstanding mezzo-soprano Sharon Carty.
