Countertenor Doron Schleifer began his musical career as a boy-soloist of the synagogue of the Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem. After studies at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance with Miriam Meltzer, he continued his vocal training at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Evelyn Tubb, Gerd Türk and Andreas Scholl. Doron leads a busy solo career of performance and recording working with ensembles such as Schola Cantorum Nürnberg (director, Pia Praetorius), Ensemble La Morra (with which he has recorded two CDs), and La Capella Reial de Catalunya (director, Jordi Savall), among others. He is a member of the all-male vocal ensemble Profeti della Quinta, winner of the York Early Music International Young Artist Competition in 2011 and with whom he tours regularly in Europe, North America, South Africa and Asia. On top of his activity as a singer, Doron is the musical director of Basel Synagogue Choir and teaches at the annual Early Music Village in Nagano, Japan.
